Strict Rules & Administrative Guidelines

Admission to the hostel is conditional and subject to continuous review of academic performance, conduct, discipline, and compliance with hostel regulations.

Continued stay in the hostel is a privilege and not a matter of right.

The hostel administration reserves the right to amend, modify, add, or remove rules in the interest of discipline, safety, and academic standards. Such changes shall be binding upon all residents.

The following acts shall invite immediate suspension pending inquiry by the Hostel Disciplinary Committee:

01

Ragging in any form (physical, verbal, psychological, direct or indirect).

02

Possession, consumption, distribution, or influence of alcohol, tobacco, narcotics, drugs, or any intoxicating substance.

03

Physical assault, fighting, bullying, intimidation, harassment, coercion, or threatening behaviour.

04

Tampering with fire safety equipment, electrical systems, or any act endangering life or property.

05

Bringing or facilitating entry of unauthorized persons into hostel premises.

Before imposing major disciplinary action such as suspension or expulsion, the student shall be given an opportunity to present an explanation before the Hostel Disciplinary Committee. The decision of the Committee shall be binding within the institutional framework, subject to applicable law.

The hostel is strictly academic in nature. Mandatory study hours must be attended unless prior written permission is granted.

Silence and discipline must be maintained during designated study and rest hours.

03

Students shall submit periodic academic progress reports as prescribed by the administration.

04

Academic negligence includes failure to attend study hours, non-submission of reports, consistent poor performance, or refusal to participate in academic monitoring.

05

Two consecutive unsatisfactory academic reviews may result in mandatory parent counseling and possible termination of hostel facility.

Monthly academic and conduct evaluations shall be communicated to parents/guardians.

07

Promotion to the next academic level shall be subject to achieving the minimum qualifying criteria prescribed by the academy.

Students shall obey all hostel rules, circulars, and instructions issued from time to time.

02

Disrespect towards hostel authorities, staff, or fellow residents shall invite disciplinary action.

03

Repeated violation of hostel rules after two written warnings may result in suspension or cancellation of hostel admission.

04

Rooms and common areas must be kept clean and orderly at all times.

05

The hostel authorities reserve the right to inspect rooms and belongings in the interest of safety, discipline, or reasonable suspicion of rule violation, with or without prior notice.

Damage to hostel property, whether intentional or negligent, shall be fully compensated as assessed by the administration.

07

Room allotment is final and may be changed only with written approval.

08

Unauthorized gatherings, meetings, or celebrations within hostel premises are prohibited.

09

Possession of weapons, hazardous materials, or objectionable content is strictly prohibited.

10

Any discrimination, harassment, or derogatory conduct based on caste, religion, community, gender, or social background shall be treated as serious misconduct.

Students shall maintain dignity, mutual respect, and appropriate conduct at all times.

Entry and exit between 9:30 PM and 5:00 AM are prohibited without prior written approval.

Leave shall be granted only upon written application stating valid reasons.

03

Frequent or unnecessary leave may affect continuation of hostel admission.

04

The hostel shall not be responsible for incidents occurring outside campus during approved leave.

05

Parents/guardians visiting students must obtain prior approval from the Warden.

06

Students must return on the notified date after approved leave. Delay without approval shall attract a fine of ₹300 per day and may affect continuation of hostel admission.

Personal mobile phones must be deposited with hostel authorities upon admission or entry.

Scheduled weekly communication hours shall be provided under supervision as notified by the administration.

03

Unauthorized possession or use of a mobile phone within hostel premises is prohibited.

04

If found, the device shall be confiscated and the parent/guardian informed. A second violation may result in suspension or expulsion.

05

Use of electronic devices for gaming, social media, heater, electric kettle or non-academic purposes is prohibited.

In emergencies, students may contact parents through the official hostel phone under supervision.

Monthly hostel fees and all dues must be paid on or before the 3rd of each month.

Delay in payment may attract late fines and restriction of hostel facilities until dues are cleared.

03

Admission fees are non-refundable once admission is confirmed, except where otherwise required under applicable law.

04

A Readmission Fee shall be payable at the beginning of each academic session within the prescribed deadline notified by the academy.

05

Registration fees, Board Examination fees (including for Class XI and Class XII, wherever applicable), and any other statutory examination charges shall be borne by the student/guardian as per the directives of the concerned authority.

06

Hostel fees shall remain payable for the entire academic session. No reduction shall be granted on account of absence, late joining, withdrawal, suspension, or expulsion unless approved in writing by management.

Any concession or waiver is discretionary and subject to management approval.

Students are responsible for safeguarding personal belongings. The hostel management shall not be liable for loss or theft.

In case of medical emergency, hostel authorities may arrange medical treatment and inform the parent/guardian immediately. All medical expenses shall be borne by the parent/guardian.

CCTV surveillance may operate in common areas for safety and monitoring purposes.

03

The hostel administration reserves the right to take disciplinary measures consistent with hostel policy and applicable laws in the interest of safety, discipline, and academic standards.

04

In case of any dispute arising from hostel admission, fees, or disciplinary action, jurisdiction shall lie within the courts of North 24 Parganas, West Bengal.
